One of the most complex drawings yet, and I think that’s a trend that will continue. Caesars opened in 1966 and was an iconic Las Vegas casino resort, from the very beginning.
The theme was used from the external design down to the matchboxes and server costumes.
I really enjoyed doing this drawing, and I like the finished result, which isn’t always the case; the failed works remain in my studio and not on display :^) I am sure all artists recognize the need to only show what they feel confident with and even that is a moving target.

Moving to Las Vegas meant exploring a whole new environment. I brought my Caller characters to the Las Vegas Strip and unleashed them on the casinos and resorts. Las Vegas is built for having fun and is absurd and real all at the same time, so perfect for my work.
The Simcity era of the 1990s is probably my favourite source of inspiration but the new resorts also offer incredible opportunities and continue to play with what is real and what is not. The Callers burst up through the made landscape to shout and compel us to enjoy life while we can and there is nowhere better than Vegas for them to thrive.
